Derived from the Persian words ‘Jām’ (Flower) and ‘Dānī’ (Vase). Revered as ‘Woven Air’ (Baft-Hawa) across royal courts, master weavers create suspended floral motifs directly upon gossamer muslin without printing or mechanical cards.

THE BEGINNING A father’s dream

Sãnjh Sutrã began with a father’s dream and a simple goal: to share the timeless art of imperial Jamdani with discerning patrons. Since then, we have nurtured generational weaver clusters across Bengal, working directly with master ustads whose nimble hands preserve 400 years of living textile heritage.
